When the scandalous Momma LeRusher returns home from jail after stealing from the church, her dysfunctional small - town family must confront their messy habits, old grudges, and buried secrets - proving that even the most chaotic clan can find redemption, one awkward family dinner at a time.
SYNOPSIS:
Series Synopsis: “The LeRushers” is a heartfelt comedy-drama about a hilariously dysfunctional Southern family trying to piece their lives back together after their matriarch, Momma LeRusher, is released from jail for stealing from the church. Her return sparks chaos and comedy as each family member faces their own flaws, failures, and hopes for redemption.
Momma LeRusher, stubborn yet soft-hearted, is determined to prove she’s changed. But her children are living proof that the LeRusher legacy of bad decisions runs deep. Tee K, her unmotivated gamer son, refuses to leave the couch. Wes, the outspoken hillbilly brother, stirs up trouble with his crude jokes and prejudices. Lorraine, the fiery redhead, hides her insecurities behind petty theft and wild stories. Liz, the responsible teacher, struggles to keep everyone grounded while suppressing her own frustrations. And Jen, recently “straight again” and married to the patient Mike, is stuck between wanting a normal life and being dragged back into her family’s whirlwind.
In the pilot episode, “Pizza Wednesday,” Momma’s homecoming dinner becomes a circus of miscommunication, guilt, and laughter. From stolen pizzas to heartfelt apologies, the LeRushers stumble their way through forgiveness and family bonding. By the end, Momma declares a new family ritual — Pizza Wednesday — a symbol of her effort to bring them together, even when everything else is falling apart.
At its core, “The LeRushers” is a raw, comedic exploration of redemption, identity, and unconditional love — a reminder that no matter how messy family gets, there’s always room at the table.
