A wheelchair user cargo pilot, stranded on the edge of interstellar space, is thrust into the fight of her life when a team of deadly mercenaries board her ship intent on stealing a mysterious artefact.

SYNOPSIS:

After the loss of her cargo, freighter captain and wheelchair user, IMALA ROE, with the help of her android companion MAC, must take on a high-risk job to cover their losses or face losing her ship and her livelihood. She meets the strange PROFESSOR HOLTVOET, who gives her a package to deliver to the planet of New Saturn. He insists she must “Go Dark” and avoid all transport lanes. They are attacked and the Professor is killed. Imala flees back to her ship and is only saved when a mysterious sniper kills her pursuers.

After escaping they jump to dark space but someone has hacked MAC and they are torn out of hyperspace on the edge of a dense intergalactic nebula that will destroy the ship. WEAVER, a highly skilled mercenary, and her team board the freighter intent on stealing the package - a mysterious, potentially alien, artefact. A game of cat and mouse ensues. Imala uses all her wits to evade the mercs. She must restart the ship before it is destroyed, all without Mac who has been incapacitated.

Weaver gains control of Mac and uses the android to get close to Imala. Mac nearly kills Imala but she restores her friend in the nick of time. Together they start the now damaged ship’s lightdrive and head for New Saturn. Billis, Weaver’s second in command, betrays his superior, thinking he has the artefact. Mac is destroyed as the freighter is torn apart. Imala kills Billis before escaping on Weaver’s ship. But Weaver is not dead and makes it to the ship before passing out. Imala chooses to save Weaver’s life.

After a high-speed chase through New Saturn’s orbital station, Imala and Weaver confront the real villain, Imala’s boss, SECTION CHIEF COBB who explains that the artefact is an ancient alien map that charts every star, planet and resource in the galaxy. However, it’s a fake. Cobb is furious, thinking Imala switched them. Weaver sacrifices herself to save Imala and Imala kills Cobb.

Sometime later, Imala is taken to a hanger where she discovers that someone left her Weaver’s ship and bought her a new Mac unit. She heads out to space renewed and excited all the while being watched by Weaver who is not dead and is in possession of the REAL ARTEFACT.
