Bohemian retiree artist named Elmer Barns who likes nothing more than to

avoid people and paint pictures at his remote lake ranch. But when a

mysterious silver saucer begins to hover over his property and speak to

him in the voice of his recently deceased wife, Elmer can’t get a soul

in town to believe him until he vanishes into thin air. James, Elmer’s

estranged brother and hardworking Kansas City

realtor, leaves his predictable life and wife behind to unravel the

mystery only to discover that the inhabitants of Cave are far more

peculiar than a flying saucer, and “the artist’s way” a far more

compelling lifestyle than his own.
