SYNOPSIS:
The story takes place in a bar set in New Orleans. The complete play is done in two bar settings. Madison sits at a baby grand piano. A black man dressed in all white. A Ghost. Max and Joey are brothers who travel the world singing. Guido and Toad are local gangsters. Becky and Bonnie are sisters who work in their Fathers bar. Curtain opens: Madison sings a song explaining his situation and opens the story. Madison has been missing for a few days. His Ghost sits at the piano as the curtain opens. The bartender and patron are discussing his missing. Madison gets up and walks to the bar. He takes a white envelope out and puts in his jacket. Max and Joey get into an argument with the bartender over the cash when Guido and Toad walk in. The four hate each other and preform a song of insult. Max and Joey are told to leave town and that they won’t find a place in town to work. After Guido and Toad leave, Madison gets the bartender to confess of a bar they could work tonight. Becky is the older of the two sisters. She talks of missing Madison and her wedding. Bonnie is unhappy of Becky’s marriage to Guido. Becky feels obligated to marry Guido to protect her Father’s business. Guido and Toad enter. Guido tells Becky how lucky she is and be prepared to have babies. After song and dance, Guido and Toad exit. Max and Joey walk into Becky’s bar. Becky and Max lock eyes and fall instantly in love. A song and dance is shared between Max and Becky. The boy’s are hired to preform that evening. The conclusion when they all meet that evening. The truth has come out. Madison has manipulated the whole thing to stop Guido from marrying Becky. The same reason why Guido killed him. Guido and Toad are sent off to prison. Max and Becky live happily ever after.
