A newborn with special healing powers mysteriously appears to a small-town family. When he grows into a young boy, his supernatural abilities will restore his fragmented family and change the most unlikely of destinies.

SYNOPSIS:

There’s something different about Tom. He mysteriously appears as a newborn on Christmas Day in Cathy and John Flanagan’s home, displaying supernatural healing powers and empathic abilities. Sarah, their six-year-old daughter, is thrilled with the new arrival. She and Tom will become thick as thieves.

Cathy and John are happily married−at least for now. Sarah is Daddy’s little girl. She aspires to be a writer and John is her biggest supporter and fan.

Ten years later, Tom has to face Randy, the unrelenting school bully. Randy picks on Tom every chance he gets. At home, family life starts to fall apart. John spends most of his time working now that he got a promotion, distancing himself from his family. Sarah becomes rebellious. She’s losing her father.

It’s Christmas Eve, and to the family’s dismay, John has to work...again. This has to stop. Tom gets an idea. He finds a family photo taken years ago on Christmas Day, back when they were truly happy. Tom breathes on the photo and tucks it in John’s front coat pocket.

In a last attempt to reconnect with her father, Sarah decides to confront John at work, but as usual, he’s too busy to give her the time of day. This is the last straw. Sarah runs away.

John is working late and finds the photo in his pocket. He gazes at it, and the picture comes to life. One by one, each family member starts to fade and disappear−all but one...him! Right there and then, he receives a call. Sarah is missing!

The Flanagans drive through a snow storm in search of Sarah. Tom calls upon his powers, leading them to Randy’s house, but Sarah isn’t there. Tom is confused. Randy confesses she was there but left with her boyfriend−a boyfriend John had no idea existed.

Suddenly, Randy's diabetic five-year-old sister, Chloe, is found unconscious. Randy is out of insulin! Tom kneels by Chloe and grasps her tiny little hand. The atmosphere mysteriously shifts. A future visit to the doctor will reveal that Chloe is totally healed. Before leaving, Tom offers Randy a life−changing glimpse into his future, transforming his heart forever.

The frantic search for Sarah continues. Tom leads them to the park where they discover Sarah, freezing, curled up in a fetal position.

Tom’s mission is accomplished. The family is restored. He bids them farewell, leaving Sarah with an exciting secret.

Sarah, now, eighty years old, reads a story to three captivated children. She shuts the book titled Tom’s Touch by Sarah Flanagan. A tear rolls down her cheek, reflecting Tom’s smiling face.
