This unique and touching story begins with a lonely old WWII veteran in his dying days. With the help of two quirky scientists, he transforms into his younger body and tries to connect with the only family he has left.
SYNOPSIS:
WALTER COLEMAN, a brittle senior citizen receives the news that he has terminal cancer, with only a couple of weeks to live. He is left with the regret of his past and comes to the realization that he will die alone. Two young, yet dark comedic scientists, CHASE MCILROY and TAYLOR WRIGHT, show up at Walter’s door step, only to reveal that they have a special solution to make Walter young again. Using an Ipad, they show him a video of an old decrepit mouse that was injected with their solution. The mouse turns young, energetic and cancer free. Walter learns that these scientists were given his medical records by his own doctor. They needed someone in his specific condition. Walter is clearly upset and dismisses the scientists’ offer. After the guys leave, Walter collapses and gets rushed to the hospital. He finds out the cancer has spread and that weeks have turned into days. He decides to get the treatment.
Underneath Seattle’s main hospital, the young scientists strap Walter in. Using their state of the art equipment, they inject Walter. After an agonizing process, we see the changes in Walter’s body. His skin clears, his hair shines dark and his body tones. Walter is exactly how he looked when he was 25. Chase, Taylor and Walter start to become very close. Chase who’s incredibly intelligent, is the youngest professor ever at the Harvard Medical Centre. Somehow, he still can't seem to figure out girls. Taylor is also in denial about women. Walter, using his old school techniques, shows the guys how to properly treat and court women, without even knowing it. Walter decides to connect with his long lost grandson, JAKE COLEMAN, who works at the Seattle Fish Market. Although Walter is now the same age as Jake, he wants to become the grandfather he never was. In order to establish connection, Walter gets a job at the fish market alongside Jake.
Walter meets Jake’s wife JULES and their beautiful young daughter LEAH. After our protagonist saves Jake and the market from a robbery, he is invited to Leah’s birthday party. He gives her a rather unique gift that we later on learn its significance. Walter eventually breaks the news to Jake that he’s his grandfather. Jake is stunned and reveals he wants nothing to do with his drunk and abusive grandfather, he’s heard so much about. Jake doesn’t believe Walter’s situation and is convinced he’s crazy. At the lab, Taylor finds the mouse transformed back into its original, older self. He then scrambles to find Chase so they can get Walter back to the hospital. After a sudden run in and conversation with Taylor and Chase, Jake eventually realizes that Walter is in fact his grandfather. At that moment, Walter, like the mouse, violently changes back to his original and older self. Now on his death bed, Walter will have to wait and see if he gets a visit from his family.
