Aliens have begun a takeover over Earth and attempts to kill them are futile as they can reconfigure their DNA to repel any attack. With Earth about to be rebooted with a new dominant species, it's down to a small team of scientists to find a way to stop them.
SYNOPSIS:
Dr Zoe Nachelle is the head of a scientific team charged with trying to decipher the workings of alien technology that has recently been discovered on Earth.
Zoe's team discovers that humanity has been gifted a device that harnesses next generation nanotechnology. It allows them to reconfigure any element or gas at the molecular level and rebuild it into anything. Without leaving their lab, they can irrigate deserts, desalinate oceans and rewire life threatening diseases to make them harmless.
But when they present their findings, the government's focus is on the immense destruction that the tech is capable of. So much so that one of the top brass takes it upon themselves to use the device to eliminate a potential threat from a foreign power with devastating results.
This act of destruction triggers the device into its secondary purpose. A half dozen pods buried beneath the moon's surface are activated and land on Earth.
The pods are relocated to an underground compound but once there, one of them opens and a creature emerges. It is shot by security when it attacks.
Zoe's hunch is that the device exists to replace humanity with a new species.
Her worst fears are confirmed just after the creature is killed. Zoe and her team watch as the genetic code of the creatures in the other pods is upgraded to counteract the cause of death. So, when the next creature emerges, bullets are useless against it.
From now on, any time Zoe and her team find a way stop the latest version of the creature, she knows that the one that replaces it will be superior.
It’s then that satellites pick up further activity on the moon. Another 500,000 pods have surfaced. The six on Earth are the advance party to test the defences of humanity.
Zoe and her team have front row seats to Earth being rebooted with a new alien species. One that'll be genetically upgraded, whenever needed, until humanity runs out of ways to kill it. That is unless Zoe and her team can find a way to stop them.
