One Shot is a white-knuckle thriller that explores the fragility of human morality when the line between hero and villain blurs—and every choice could mean life or death.
SYNOPSIS:
A quiet convenience store on the edge of town becomes a powder keg when Alan Kearns, a strung-out criminal, storms in with a gun, desperate for cash to fund his next fix. What should have been a quick score spirals into chaos. A cop lies bleeding on the pavement. An elderly customer, Eduardo, is gravely wounded. The young store manager, Ben, and his assistant, Maria, are forced to the floor as Alan’s grip on reality slips.
With police snipers trained on the windows, Alan’s paranoia turns the cramped store into a war zone. But as the hours tick by, whispered conversations and fractured flashbacks reveal that this isn’t just a random act of violence—these four lives are bound together by fate and a shared history.
Through tense flashbacks, the truth unravels:
• The Burning Barn: As a child, Maria barely survived a horrifying accident that claimed her sister. Her screams still echo in her nightmares, and the scars of that night explain her steely resolve under pressure.
• The Escape from Mexico: Eduardo’s family fled the cartel’s wrath, dodging bullets as they crossed the border. His hatred for men like Alan—criminals with no regard for life—is personal and deep.
• The Knife in the Chest: As a child, Ben feels the responsibility and gilt of a knife buried in an old man’s chest. He carries the guilt of his actions and sees in Alan a chance at redemption.
• The Convenience Store Hold-Up: Alan’s criminal past has rippled through each of their lives. He was the dealer who sold and took the drugs that fuelled the chaos in their stories and in his own.
The Hostage Struggle:
When Ben manages to wrestle the gun from Alan, the power dynamic flips. Eduardo, wounded but unyielding, demands they end Alan’s life and claim self-defence—justice for the horrors he’s caused. Maria, her hands shaking, begs Ben to call the police and end the cycle of violence.
Ben stands between two worlds—mercy and vengeance—while Alan, bloodied and smirking, taunts them to pull the trigger.
Outside, the SWAT team readies to breach. The countdown begins.
The Climax:
As the door explodes inward, a single shot echoes. But who pulled the trigger?
