A child actor from a hit detective show has aged out of Hollywood. And now as an adult, he’s forced to confront actual criminals while he faces hard truths about his childhood.
SYNOPSIS:
Xander Joe Harrison, a former child actor known for his role in the TV series "Junior Detective", lives in his old elementary school and is trying to revive his acting career. His friend Trick gets involved with the Georgian mob after a money drop goes wrong, leaving several people dead. Xander ends up with a bag of money and a flash drive containing millions in cryptocurrency that the mob boss, Pasha, wants back.
Xander stages a fake interrogation of Pasha's associate Sweet Lou with help from a stunt car drive Showtime, the show's old producer CC, and others in an attempt to find out who the mob boss "Mr. Big" is. Things spiral out of control as a professional assassin named Rio gets involved.
Xander seeks help from police officer Lainey Coogan while juggling an important dinner meeting with potential investors who turn out to be the plastic surgeons working with the mob. At the dinner, Rio kills Pasha and Sweet Lou before being arrested by Lainey.
Throughout the events, Xander bonds with a young actress named Pip who reminds him of his late sister Kit. With help from his quirky therapist Dom, Xander confronts his guilt over his family's death which happened while rushing to get him to an audition.
In the end, Xander decides to self-finance his comeback movie with the mob money. He gives Pip and her mom a place to stay at the school. The story concludes with Xander playing baseball with his friends, family and the ghost of his sister, finally at peace with his past.
