SYNOPSIS:

DUCK STORY: THE LOST EAGLE is a feature-length animated film that follows Hector, a Harpy Eagle from The Amazon, who is caught by a poacher. Hector is taken from his family to a castle in Scotland where he’s forced to join a birds of prey show. He refuses to perform until a wise old owl persuades him to “play the game,” or lose his life.

The homesick eagle gives in and becomes the number one attraction at the castle because of his impressive size and incredible dives. Hector escapes and finds a park in England. The Park is ruled by the Swan King and Queen whose geese guards, along with the Pond Police keep the park safe. Hector decides to seize control of the park until he can find a way home.

Hector sees a group of herons and their leader, One-Eyed Billy, stealing the parks younglings. He steals Prince George, the Swan King and Queen’s eldest cygnet and heir, and forces the herons to follow him. Hector sends the herons to steal more younglings, amongst them is feisty duckling Jess Green who’s afraid to fly.

Pond Police Detective Edward Gold, “Goldie”, is a golden duck who’s on the case of the missing younglings. He and his rookie partner, Manny, search the park and enlist Stumpy, a squirrel informant with half a tail, to help them. Stumpy sees the shadow of a giant bird fly over him. Goldie wonders if the mysterious bird has something to do with the disappearances.

The Pond Police are summoned to the castle to brief the Swan King and Queen. The Queen enlists the elite birds of prey team, the M.I.DIVE, to help. The team search the park and discover the younglings are being held inside caves beneath Heron Island, home of the herons.

Hector flies into the Swan Palace and demands that the Swan King gives him the kingdom in exchange for the princes’ life. He gives the King three days to make up his mind.

Goldie and the M.I.DIVE spring into action and plan a daring rescue mission to Heron Island. They build a trap for Hector amongst the trees. Several obstacles impede their progress, including predators, heron guards, a fierce storm, and heavy rain that submerges the caves and tunnels where the younglings are being held.

Goldie and his team succeed in rescuing the younglings. Hector and the herons chase after them. A battle in the sky ensues and several of the M.I.DIVE are injured. Goldie tricks Hector into flying into the trap where he’s caught and injured. They believe Hector is dead.

Jess and Prince George find Hector. The prince returns home and Jess stays behind. She realises that Hector is alive and badly wounded. Feeling sorry for him, she helps him escape. Hector tells Jess about the owl and the other birds that are trapped in the castle, he tells her to go home to her family and decides to return to the castle and free the birds. Jess secretly follows Hector.

Goldie and the M.I.DIVE return the younglings to their homes. They realise that Jess is still missing. They return to the trap and find it empty with some of Jess’s feathers on the ground. Fearing the worst, Goldie vows to her parents that he’ll find Hector and bring him to justice.
