A fugitive psychedelic author has seven days to prove the afterlife exists on live TV to save 1,000 hostages while preventing the CIA from weaponizing his discovery as the ultimate tool of mass destruction.
SYNOPSIS:
Dr. Joseph Wildeagle (Doc) was once America's most famous psychedelic author until a 2011
experiment meant to prove the afterlife killed his fiancee Karla and three friends. Doc
survived and spent 18 months in a CIA lab as they tested his supernatural abilities.
Sixteen years later, Doc lives as a wealthy desert recluse, still trying to reach Karla.
After his new book Escape Velocity becomes a 2027 bestseller, a blackmailer twists its
message into a reincarnation do-over through suicide. He drives 100 followers to their
deaths, then gives Doc seven days to prove the afterlife live on TV or 1,000 more will die.
CIA Director Harman detects a gamma-ray burst from Doc's property and moves to weaponize
it before China can steal it. Doc escapes using a rigged EMP and zip line. Chinese spy Echo
gets sent from L.A. to eliminate the threat. The FBI brings in Dr. Dayna Reese, a psychology
professor who watched her twin brother die in a cult suicide at age five and believes he
still guides her. She tests Doc's formula, connects with her brother's soul, and becomes
a believer.
Running out of time, Doc commits the unforgivable. He kidnaps a stranger, Pete Meeker.
Pete dies during the experiment. Doc crosses into the afterlife, finds his soul, and drags
him back. Pete returns enlightened and devoted. Living proof.
Emma Rivers, a sixteen-year-old runaway, appears at Doc's house. Dayna realizes Emma carries
Karla's reincarnated soul and tracks Doc to his remote cabin. Doc senses Karla immediately
and performs a ceremony with Dayna to help her reconnect with her brother. Then Harman's
mercenaries raid. Doc escapes. Dayna and Emma are taken to a Mexican black site.
Doc faces three impossible choices: reunite with Karla, save 1,000 marked for death, or
stop genocide. He chooses all three.
