SABLE UNDER THE CHRISTMAS TREE
By James Brosnahan

GENRE: Romance, Comedy
LOGLINE:

A talented vintage fashion designer, fleeing corporate compromise, and a small-town handyman with a gift for craftsmanship must overcome their initial misconceptions to discover that true Christmas magic lies in creating something authentic together, whether it's a dress, a dog agility course, or an unexpected second chance at love.

SYNOPSIS:

Caitlin Goff, a talented vintage fashion designer at "Nouveau Silhouette" in New York City, becomes disillusioned when her boss forces her to compromise her authentic designs for trendy "Vintage Fusion" creations. Her boyfriend Ted, who betrayed her trust by pitching the idea without her knowledge, prioritizes career advancement over her feelings. Frustrated, Caitlin resigns and impulsively purchases a cottage in the small town of Pine Grove.

Upon arrival, she discovers her cottage needs significant repairs and meets Nick Winters, the town's only handyman and a former football star whose career was cut short by injury. Their initial interactions are tense, with Nick dismissing her as just another demanding "city girl."

As Nick repairs Caitlin's cottage, they discover unexpected common ground: his woodworking craftsmanship mirrors her dedication to authentic dressmaking. Their connection deepens when Caitlin learns Nick's great-grandmother, Adaline, was a renowned 1940s fashion designer whose work Caitlin has admired and emulated throughout her career.

When Caitlin launches her own vintage fashion business, she receives crucial support from her former colleague Joann. Meanwhile, Nick contemplates a lucrative job offer in New York City. Their budding relationship is further tested when Nick's beloved Shetland Sheepdog, Joy, runs away. During the search, they discover Joy at an abandoned dog agility course, illuminating Nick's true dream of opening a local training center.

The conflict intensifies when Joy's former owners return to claim her, driven by her success in competition. Caitlin uses her business funds to buy Joy for Nick, demonstrating her commitment to what truly matters. Ted arrives with an offer for Caitlin to return to New York with complete creative control, but she realizes her place is in Pine Grove with Nick.

By Christmas Eve, Caitlin had established a successful business with Joann, and Nick had opened his dog agility club. Nick proposes with his great-grandmother's ring, and they celebrate their engagement as a new family with Joy and a Sheltie puppy named Merry.
