Grandson to the local monster hunter sets out on an adventure with his best friends into Honey Island Swamp to prove that his grandfather's encounter with the legendary Swamp Monster was not a hoax. Based on a real legendary swamp tale.

SYNOPSIS:

Arty Ford's grandfather told him tales about a mysterious creature that lives on his private swamp island. He gives Arty a plaster casting of tracks that he found that he claims were made by the legendary Swamp Monster. So, when Arty's grandfather passes away, Arty treasures the swamp tales and plaster track. But, when Arty brings the track to school for show and tell, the school bus bully trips him, breaks the track and claims his grandfather's encounter with a swamp monster was a hoax. The bully also informs Arty that his rich, greedy Dad, who owns the local swamp tour, plans to buy his grandfather's swamp island at the parish tax sale to build vacation cabins for his tourists.

So, Arty convinces his best friends to help him save the island and trap the swamp monster to prove it is real and make enough money to save the island. The new girl on the bayou, who Arty has a crush on, suggests they contact a Cryptozoologists for help. So they Google one. Professor Neil takes the call while tracking a Bigfoot in the mountains, but promises to visit them and examine the broken plaster track and an old 8mm film Arty found in his grandfather's shed that looks like it may have a Swamp Monster walking through the swamp.

Arty can't wait on professor Neil to get to town, so the kids gather supplies and sneak off to the swamp island without telling their parents. Meanwhile, Neil decides to leave the mountains to talk to Arty. When he arrives, that is when Arty's mom, Lana realizes the kids are missing.

While on the island, Arty and his gang confront many dangers, like alligators, snakes, big swamp spiders, hornets, quick sand, and more. But, when Arty is chased by a pack of wild boar, and is about to be devoured by Hogzilla, a huge legendary wild boar, the Swamp Monster saves his life and fights off Hogzilla. That's when Arty has a change of heart, and realizes it may be best to let others think the Swamp Monster is just a legendary swamp tale and not expose him to the world.

Then, the bully's dad, who owns the swamp tour, offers a big reward to the first hunter to bring in the Swamp Monster dead or alive. So, Arty teams up with Professor Nile who will help protect the Swamp Monster from the crazed hunters coming to town.
