An exiled Jehovah's Witness forms an unlikely father-son relationship with an aging vigilante, and together the two "solve problems" in the deceptively quiet but surprisingly violent small town of Savage, Nebraska.

TEASER

In Savage, Nebraska - a SCARRED MAN hides in the woods. He watches an SUV, where MARK hits on his adopted daughter, JASMINE. The Scarred Man bashes Mark, helps Jasmine escape. He starts the car and sends it and Mark off a cliff.

ACT ONE

NOAH reads the Jehovah's Witness Bible. He listens to his parents (TERRANCE and SARAH) arguing. He drowns it out with music. Now in the car, his parents continue to argue. Noah intervenes, but they are hit by a pickup truck. Noah is badly hurt. He'll die without a blood transfusion. Noah agrees to it, against his religious values. When he wakes his parents are gone. He makes his way home to find himself locked out, his bag packed. His parents ignore his pleas. Noah heads to his church, but is turned away.

KELLY (a detective) wakes, showers, gets a call from JULIA. She drives her plainclothes cop car to a rehab facility, where Julia (her sister) waits. Kelly is having trouble with her husband (STEVE). Julie apologizes. Kelly investigates Mark's crime scene. DAMON tells her Mark survived the fall and crawled out. They think a bear got him. His adopted daughter is missing.

ACT TWO

GIANCARLO arrives at a motel. He pays in cash. He has a gun and lots of money. Noah tries to find work, but has no experience. He tries the jewelry store where HENRY works. He is the scarred man from the teaser. Noah attacks a wife-beater customer. Henry is impressed, hires him, offers Noah a place to sleep. His place is small but neat. Noah has a beer. Drunk, Noah explains his situation. Henry tells him his wife and son were killed. Noah discovers Henry's strange tools. Henry invites him to come help with his mysterious other job.

ACT THREE

Giancarlo goes to the casino. NANCY is the director of operations. She's scared of Giancarlo. She demands he tells her where her kidnapped son is. She agrees to give him his cut and he tells her where to collect her son. Julia tells Kelly she had to get rid of the beer at her place. COLLINS is Kelly's supervisor. Jasmine has turned up with her biological mother, MARLENE. Kelly interviews them, spots Jasmine's lies. Kelly thinks it's an ongoing thing, someone killing the scumbags in town, but Collins doesn't believe her.

REBECCA conceals a bruise on her face. She delivers a letter to a mysterious homeless man. He delivers it to the burger joint. Henry and Noah arrive and collect the envelope. He drives to his warehouse. It's setup to make diamonds. He can take cremation ashes and turn them into diamonds. There are many letters in the bag, Noah picks Rebecca's.

ACT FOUR

Noah and Henry sit in his van watching Rebecca's house. They read her letter. Her husband, Damon (a corrupt cop), beats her. They make sure she's not lying. Julia and Kelly dine together. Kelly heads to work. Henry and Noah watch Rebecca's house again. There are noises in the house. Henry wants to wait, but Noah rushes in. Noah sees the scene with his own parents. He bashes Damon in the head with a hammer. Damon fights back. Henry shoots Damon. They take the body away. They take it to a waste facility where DEAN works. The destroy the body, then burn the van. Noah is part of this now, Henry tells him.

Kelly is given the case. Henry turns Damon's ashes into a blue diamond, and it's implied he may have turned many other people into the diamonds on display at his jewelry store. Giancarlo had Damon working for him, he calls in "The Groomer".
