A bride sets out to murder her groom's entire family during a destination wedding in the British Virgin Isles, payback for a decade old crime committed back on the mainland.

SYNOPSIS:

In Anegada, in the British Virgin Islands, SOPHIE recites her wedding vows to ETHAN DURAND, then pulls out a gun and shoots him. She turns the gun on the crowd and aims at the guests, specifically the Durands, lead by CHARLIE DURAND (50s). Years ago in New Orleans, 17-year-old Sophie, comes home to her father WADE MONTROSE (50s), a detective. A drunk/high Charlie knocks on the door, so Wade sends her upstairs. Charlie kills Wade, then sexually assaults Sophie, telling her that if she ever tells anyone, he'll kill the rest of her family.

Back in Anegada, the gunfight rages on. In a flashback, we see 20 year-old Sophie working with her grandpa HUGO GRANGER at Southland Cremation & Burial. She tells Hugo about what the Durands did. In Anegada, Sophie gets in her car and drives to the island's one airport, correctly guessing that Charlie will be heading there, (next ferry off the island isn't for 24 hours).

A shootout at the airport ensues. In the past, Hugo teaches Sophie how to shoot. He's no stranger to a life of crime and is familiar with the Durands, a criminal family. In the present, Charlie races to the harbor, but finds that all the fuel lines on the motorboats have been cut.

In the past, Hugo gives Sophie a machete, urging her to kill a chicken so that a human life isn't the first one she takes. She meets Ethan at a bar in the French Quarter, claiming her name is Serena. In the present, Sophie continues to try to kill Charlie only to be slowed down by his men. In the past, Ethan takes Sophie out to dinner, telling her for the first time that he's a member of the Durand crime family. Sophie goes with Ethan to meet Charlie, and he doesn't seem to recognize her. Ethan tells Sophie that Charlie stopped being a doctor after Katrina. He was working in a hospital. The power went out and flood waters were rising, so the other doctors decided to euthanize the patients they couldn't move.

In the present, Charlie and his men hunker down at the reception hall, while Sophie watches and waits. In the past, Ethan leaves Sophie late at night. He comes back extremely late, takes off his clothes, and showers. Sophie notices blood and female hair on the clothes. She meets with Hugo, who tells her a single mom was murdered the previous night, collateral damage in a gang execution. Ethan proposes.

In the present, Sophie approaches the reception hall. In the past, she tells Ethan she wants to get married in Anegada. In the present, Sophie enters the reception hall, fantasies about her dream wedding intermingling with her bleak reality. It's a brutal fight. Sophie gets shot, but she kills Charlie's men and finally gets a chance to confront him. She shows him a slideshow-pictures of their son. Sophie got pregnant after Charlie raped her. He admits that she didn't deserve what he did to her. Sophie kills him, then heads outside, where Hugo is waiting. He's gathering up the dead bodies, which they put in body bags and sail back to New Orleans with. They incinerate the bodies at their funeral home. Sophie finally returns home to her son, who she's named WADE (9) in honor of her father.
