A deadbeat ex-Marine father has to recruit his estranged sons, who have all grown into tough guys because their father was never around, to rescue his kidnapped ex-wife in Mexico.

SYNOPSIS:

JANET (50s) is a reporter in Juarez, Mexico, looking into the cartel. REYNA (40s), who is affiliated with a cartel, kidnaps her. Reyna demands a ransom. She makes Janet call her son, KEITH (24), a recent graduate of Marine training. Keith needs help however, and resorts to his ex-marine low-life father, FRANK, who left his family when he was a child. Keith also goes to his two anything-but-marine brothers ZANE (23, a car thief) and WILLIE (22, a bodybuilder) for help to save their mother. All the boys hate their father because of his absence in the past. The reluctant sons and their father travel to Juarez.

After they get to Jaurez, Frank and Keith teach Zane and Willie how to shoot a gun properly and they all prepare to save their mother. They track down MANUEL, Janet's last interviewee, by hacking her email and interrogate him on more information about Reyna. Later, they find a man named JAVIER at a bar. Javier gives them more information about Reyna. Reyna calls Keith and says she wants to meet up with only him and the ransom money. However, when he arrives, he brings the guys all hidden in the car. When he gives the bag with the supposed money to Reyna, a flash bang he put in it erupts, and after a long firefight the men retreat.

Janet stuck back in the house she's kept hostage in, manages to sneak a call to Keith saying she is all right. She also explains Reyna actually is disobeying orders from her superior to get money for herself before murdering Janet. Reyna threatens to kill Janet again, but Javier says he will just tell her superior Marco, and then she would be killed.

Reyna hires hit men (sicarios) to kill the men. The hitmen go attack the hotel room, killing Javier. Willie gets shot, and Frank finally shows emotion, and begins to cry. After fending off the hitmen in a long firefight. The rest of the men infiltrate Reyna's base, but accidently let Reyna go because since they have never seen her, she tricked them into thinking she was an innocent Mexican woman.

Regardless, they save Janet. Everyone, now including Janet, get in an intense car chase with Reyna. However with the cartel coming the only way for Frank to save his family is to sacrifice himself with a grenade, stopping all of Reyna's forces. The boys are happy they finally saved their mother, and knowing they grew closer to their father and he did not die in vain.
