OLD GLORY

OLD GLORY
By Wilmer Villanueva

GENRE: Sports Drama, Drama
LOGLINE:

A former New York Yankees player is forced to retire after being accused of using steroids. Now he must live between the rejection and frustration of society.

SYNOPSIS:

Dan Murray had it all: fame, money, and the adoration of millions as a star player for the New York Yankees. But his career collapsed when he was expelled from the Major Leagues for relapsed into steroid use. Humiliated by the press, repudiated by fans, and even abandoned by his own family, Dan ended up living alone on the only property that hadn't been taken from him, accompanied only by a woman of dubious reputation who symbolizes his fall from grace. At the same time, Mike Donovan, a brilliant manager who once ran a multinational corporation, faces his own personal ruin: the company went bankrupt, he lost his prestige, and now he's unemployed, desperately seeking a new opportunity. Fate leads him to accept the unlikely position of Dan Murray's chauffeur and personal assistant. Although they seem to belong to opposite worlds—baseball and finance—they both share a background of lost glory, irreparable mistakes, and the need to find purpose amidst failure. What begins as a strained relationship marked by cultural and character differences slowly transforms into a bond of respect and friendship. In their conversations and experiences, each discovers in the other a mirror of their own downfalls and a spark of possible redemption. "Old Glory" is a story of second chances, where two men broken by their bad decisions must learn that true greatness lies not in fame or material success, but in the ability to rise up and find courage in everyday life.
