When a carbon monoxide leak forces the evacuation of their apartment building, two strangers living in the same East Village complex embark on an impromptu day-long adventure across the diverse boroughs of New York City, forming a unique bond amidst the chaos.
SYNOPSIS:
In the bustling East Village, Cass and Row, both in their mid-20s, are two strangers residing in the same apartment building. They find their lives unexpectedly intertwined one fateful Saturday morning as sirens wail and emergency vehicles descend upon their building due to a carbon monoxide leak, converging their paths amidst the chaos.
With their homes temporarily off-limits until 9 p.m., Cass notices Row leaving and impulsively decides to follow her. Row navigates the vibrant streets of the East Village, with Cass struggling to keep pace. When Row stops at a vintage dress storefront, she catches sight of Cass attempting to hide behind a lamppost. Intrigued, Row confronts Cass about his presence, and he confesses he doesn’t have anywhere to go. Surprisingly, Row reveals that she too has nowhere to go.
Drawn together by their shared predicament, Cass suggests they spend the day together, and Row accepts. They decide to explore the various boroughs of New York City, becoming tourists in their own city. They start with Staten Island and continue to Morningside Heights, Harlem, the Bronx, Queens, and Brooklyn.
Throughout their journey, Cass and Row discover hidden gems and immerse themselves in the cultural richness of each borough. They engage in deep conversations about time, death, religion, love, politics, and their personal histories. As they delve deeper into their own fears, dreams, and desires, their individual growth and self-discovery lead to a profound connection that hints at the possibility of something romantic.

An impromptu day-long adventure across the diverse boroughs of New York City is a unique Romance story, @Nelda, and I can picture them doing all kinds of things and the chaos just from the logline. I can see two A-list actors signing up to lead in this movie, and I think it'll be a hit.

How is the new draft coming along, Nelda De La Paz?
Just tightening the dialogue right now.
