In the 1960’s Filipino Cigarette Girl wants to run away to the United States, but plans are thwarted when she witnesses a murder carried out by a drug trafficking syndicate, and the leader is her Uncle. 

SYNOPSIS:

Young, poor and desperate 20 year old Mari-Lou runs away from an abusive environment takes a job as a cigarette girl at strip bar in a red light district just outside of Clark Air Force Base, Philippines, during the 1960’s. True to her Catholic faith while being exposed to prostitution, drug abuse and violence, Mari-Lou finds a community among the other cigarette girls who are also circumventing the adversities in the hopes of finding a husband, move to the United States and escape their fate. Instead they find they are victims of a global sex trafficking network, unplanned pregnancies, despair and betrayal from those they loved and trusted.
