SYNOPSIS:
Riley Wheeler, Wyatt Jackson and Clayton MacDonald grew up in Tahoka, TX. Raised on boredom and country music in the shadow of oil wells, they were desperate for a way out. That way was music, they mastered the craft of Texas swing. Unfortunately, it's 1981 -- their audiences are more interested in dog collars and leather jackets than the waltz time of Bob Wills. When they lose the battle of the bands, something snaps in Wyatt, their tightly-wound drummer. They get in a scuffle with a couple of cocky ranchers, and a cowboy ends up dead. The Ramblers have but one option, disappear into the Mexican desert. However, they've attracted the attention of Percy DuPlass the greatest living Texas Ranger with an itchy trigger finger and the perfect record to prove it. The Ramblers blaze through the desert flirting with girls, befriending truckers and getting on the wrong side of Mexican drug cartels, in their blind pursuit of greatness, freedom and a little bit of money.
