YACHT GIRL

YACHT GIRL
By Scott Sawitz

GENRE: Mystery, Crime
LOGLINE:

When a social media influencer is invited aboard a Saudi prince’s luxurious yacht, the trip turns deadly when he’s murdered at sea. With no way to escape and a boat full of suspects, she must uncover the killer before they reach shore—or risk taking the fall herself

SYNOPSIS:

Think Knives Out meets Triangle of Sadness: a satirical murder mystery where the influencers are beautiful, the secrets are deadly, and the yacht isn’t big enough for all their egos.

Zoe Caruso is a broke but ambitious cooking influencer, desperate to make her online hustle pay off. When she receives a strange email inviting her to cook for the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia aboard his private yacht—for half a million dollars—she’s skeptical, but intrigued. The offer is real. So is the yacht: The Soul of Arabia, a floating palace packed with fine wine, French chefs, and a small group of influential, glamorous guests. There's Caitlyn, the top OnlyFans model; Stephanie, a movie star looking for financing; Ava, a Twitch gamer with a squeaky-clean rep; and Yasmin, a STEM YouTuber hiding a secret.

It all seems like a weird, elite influencer retreat—until the Prince is found dead in his room, stabbed with a kitchen knife. The yacht turns back to port, but with 24 hours before they dock, panic sets in. Kyle, the Prince’s assistant, claims the onboard chef did it, but Zoe isn’t so sure. She saw that knife yesterday. She used it.

With her own fingerprints potentially on the murder weapon and the yacht’s royal security looking for a scapegoat, Zoe takes a page from her best friend’s favorite murder mysteries and decides to solve it herself. One by one, she interviews the guests—each of whom has something to hide. Secrets spill: hidden sex tapes, NDA payouts, identity lies, and fake STEM creds. And while Zoe plays detective, someone else tries to kill her and throw her overboard.

But Zoe won’t be silenced. Between bribes, beatdowns, and backroom deals, she follows the trail of lies all the way to the real killer—and a final twist that could leave her rich, ruined, or both.

Yacht Girl is a darkly funny, female-driven murder mystery with a Gen Z spin. It’s a satire of influencer culture, wealth worship, and the absurd gap between fame and power, all wrapped in a twisty whodunit. Think Glass Onion if the suspects were online-famous and desperate not to get canceled.
