A night of romance, awkward conversations and maybe even murder as two pairs of friends go to a speed dating event looking for fun and wind up with more than they bargained for.
SYNOPSIS:
The Politics of Sex & Speed Dating is Crazy, Stupid, Love meets The Nice Guys, combining razor-sharp wit with a noir-tinged thriller backdrop. It's a high-stakes exploration of love, deception, and survival, where speed dating isn't just about romance—it's about staying alive.
In The Politics of Sex & Speed Dating, a seemingly innocuous evening of modern matchmaking becomes a melting pot of humor, drama, and danger. Keith, a tech-savvy but socially awkward IT professional, reluctantly agrees to attend a speed-dating event orchestrated by his slick lawyer friend Flynn, who promises a chance to shake off the specter of Keith’s recent divorce. At the same time, Rachel, a driven but romantically skeptical medical student, joins the event, egged on by her outspoken friend Lindsay. Both hope for an uneventful night, but their paths cross with a cast of colorful—and dangerous—characters.
Unbeknownst to the attendees, Hugo, a stoic professional hitman, is present under the guise of an ordinary dater. As the evening unfolds, personal conflicts, awkward encounters, and buried secrets bubble to the surface. Keith unexpectedly encounters his ex-wife Stacy, a cutthroat reporter on a mission to uncover corruption within a corporate giant. Their fraught reunion dredges up unresolved tensions and becomes a catalyst for escalating chaos.
The night takes a darker turn when Hugo's mission collides with Stacy's investigative pursuit. Amid flirtations, rivalries, and comical misfires, danger lurks in the form of Gregory, a paranoid whistleblower who claims to possess incriminating evidence about a deadly conspiracy. With stakes rising and tensions high, the line between personal drama and existential peril blurs, forcing Keith, Rachel, and Stacy to navigate a surreal collision of romantic entanglements and life-threatening intrigue.
Darkly comedic and sharply observant, The Politics of Sex & Speed Dating dissects modern relationships, societal norms, and the absurdity of human connections while delivering twists and turns that keep the audience guessing.
