LOS LUCHADORES
By Lance Inman

GENRE: Crime, Comedy
LOGLINE:

After his family’s business is burglarized, Alejandro teams up with his friends and a 3-D printer to fight back against crime and corruption in the city of Portland.

SYNOPSIS:

“Los Luchadores” is a feature length action-dramedy set in modern-day Portland, Oregon and is in the vein of Kick-Ass meets the Netflix series “Gentefied.” The film is a contemporary take on the hero genre but with a unique, youthful and very “Portland” adaptation. The characters are diverse in background and ethnicity, and their depictions are both authentic and charming.

The protagonist, ALEJANDRO (early 20’s, smart, ambitious, Mexican-American) is in college and works part time at his parents’ musical instrument store alongside his older sister, ESPERANZA (mid 20s intelligent, sassy, lawyer). As crime is raging in the city, it’s no surprise that their family business is broken into and burglarized.

Alejandro is exasperated and enraged by the break-in and decides to take action. With the help of his friends, Alejandro designs and manufactures superhero suites with a school issued 3-D printer, forming their crime fighting team, LOS LUCHADORES (Spanish for wrestler/fighter). As they patrol the streets and fight crime night after night, a larger issue is observed; these are not just one-off burglaries, but rather a coordinated effort by a united criminal organization.

What Los Luchadores don’t know is that this crime syndicate is led by a corrupt city council member and his nephew MARK WICKERSHAM (late 20’s, ambitious, weaselly, lawyer) who is also ESPERANZA’S BOYFRIEND.

One day at work, Alejandro notices that Esperanza is wearing a necklace that was stolen from his friend and fellow crime fighter’s family jewelry store. He connects the dots and realizes that her boyfriend, MARK is behind the break ins. Alejandro follows Mark and Esperanza when they go on a date but ends up being captured by Mark’s henchmen.

The other Luchadores can’t get a hold of Alejandro and realize somethings up, so they come to the rescue. After a final brawl at the criminal warehouse, Mark and his lackies are defeated, arrested and taken into custody.

Crime and corruption has been extinguished from the city, and the Mayor holds a press conference to announce the prosecution of the criminals and thank the efforts of the unidentified heroes, LOS LUCHADORES.
