A Young woman raised on a farm in Iowa is about to lose everything, but her greatest battle will be fought against a sadistic collector and the Federal Government before she can begin to rebuild her life. Inspired by the documentary "Maxed Out".
SYNOPSIS:
In 2014 the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) sued and/or banned more than 30 collections agencies for fraudulent and egregious acts against consumers.
An Important Business Matter is the most common true American story that you never hear. Many of the events are real:
Diane and her sister, Francie, only had each other growing up. Now, after losing her, losing their grandparent’s farm and dropping out of college, Diane is deeply in debt with student loans, her sister's medical bills, back taxes on the family farm.
Her “sob story” matters little to Bryan, whose depravity only deepens with every passing day. Fortunately, Diane meets Joel and Marsha, who try to help her, but it's too late. Diane tries to take her own life, which only strengthens their resolve to get revenge on Bryan and to fight the system all the way to Washington D.C.
