EBENEZER

EBENEZER
By Simon Hartwell

GENRE: Family, Drama
LOGLINE:

He changed a country. Now he must change himself.

After a lifetime enforcing brutal social policies, a cold-hearted Prime Minister is confronted on Christmas Eve by three spectral government agents who reveal the true human cost of his reforms — forcing him to face his own legacy, his mortality, and the chance for redemption before it’s too late.

SYNOPSIS:

BASED UPON THE CHARLES DICKENS NOVELLA: A CHRISTMAS CAROL

In a modern twist on a classic tale

Prime Minister Ebenezer Scrooge has led the nation with an iron fist: harsh welfare reforms, punishing workhouse schemes, and austerity policies that have left the poorest citizens struggling to survive. Cold, calculating, and utterly convinced of his own righteousness, Ebenezer spends Christmas Eve as he always has — alone, irritated, and untroubled by the consequences of his decisions.

But when the ghostly image of his late mentor, Jacob Marley, appears on his television, Ebenezer is warned that his legacy is darker than he imagines. Through the night, three mysterious government “agents” arrive — Chris P Ast, Chris P Resent, and the silent, shadowy Chris F Uture — each revealing the real human impact of Ebenezer’s leadership: families broken, children dying, communities abandoned, and a nation losing hope.

Confronted with the future he is destined to meet — a lonely death, unmourned and forgotten — Ebenezer faces a choice: continue down a path of cruelty, or embrace compassion, justice, and humanity.

By Christmas morning, Scrooge is transformed, racing to make amends and rewrite the destiny of his country… and his own soul.
