SYNOPSIS:
Zombie Dogs
By: Ray Hoese rdhoese@gmail.com
A beautiful Golden Retriever, full grown, but still a puppy, bounds across a meadow, looking for the bunny it saw seconds early. In sniffs around the base of a bush -- and is grabbed by the neck and torn to shreds by a big nasty zombie dog.
Flashback to the day before, when animal rights protestors free a bunch of dogs from a lab where they do medical testing. One of the freed dogs eats the protester that releases it. It's the first zombie dog, and it goes about infecting every dog there in the lab -- which are then set free -- and they run wild through this small town, infecting every dog there -- large and small.
The virus kills the dogs quickly -- but they are just as quickly reborn as zombie dogs. They go about wreaking havoc on the town -- killing everything and everybody in sight.
Though serious and scary, there are some fun moments -- like the guide dog that keeps attacking his blind owner, and the Dalmatian (fire dog) that kills the entire fire department.
Oh, and there's the K9 dog at the police station that ends up hiding in a cell with one of the deputies and an inmate -- who was jailed for animal cruelty the day before.
Two wives lose their husbands to the zombie dogs, and they must fight for their lives -- and the lives of their dogs.
The women end up in the attic of their house -- fighting off a pack of wolves throughout the night until dawn -- waiting for the virulent epidemic to run its course.
