JIMMY AND THE STAR ANGEL

JIMMY AND THE STAR ANGEL
By Jerry Robbins

GENRE: Animation
LOGLINE:

After their father’s death, a grieving boy and his sister are pulled into a living Christmas tree -- where they must reach the Star Angel before sunrise or be frozen in place forever, while something forgotten tries to trap them in a world fueled by lost memories.

SYNOPSIS:

Academy Nicholl QF (2020 - as "Climb").

On Christmas Eve, Jimmy and Samantha, still grieving the loss of their father, are magically shrunk into their family’s Christmas tree. There, they discover an extraordinary world where ornaments come to life one night a year—in a dazzling, musical adventure filled with song and spectacle.

But all is not merry—Scrimshaw, a once-prized but now broken and bitter ornament, seeks revenge by turning the entire tree into an "Empty Side" of forgotten and discarded decorations.

Guided by ‘66, an enthusiastic gingerbread scout, and Lighthouse, an aging but warm-hearted nautical beacon, the siblings embark on a perilous journey to the Star Angel at the top of the tree, who alone can restore them to normal size. Along the way, they befriend Pockets, a wise tramp clown, and Sheriff, a bumbling but well-meaning cowboy ornament. But dangers loom: Scrimshaw’s army of misfit ornaments sabotages branches, collapsing parts of the tree, and Jimmy and Samantha are relentlessly pursued by Rottentail, a menacing rabbit ornament, and an army of militant snowmen.

As the sun rises, the battle between the ornaments escalates. Jimmy and Samantha finally reach the Star Angel, but Scrimshaw’s destruction has nearly undone the tree. In a stirring final song, Jimmy realizes that preserving memories, even painful ones, is the key to healing. With newfound courage, he stands up to Scrimshaw and restores the ornaments—even the villain himself -- to their rightful place.

As Christmas morning arrives, Jimmy and Samantha awaken, safe and sound, forever changed. Their father’s spirit lives on, not just in the tree, but in their hearts.
