When a young man extends his hand to a homeless drunk, his act of charity isn’t all it appears to be.
SYNOPSIS:
Elijah is a story about two men, Max (20’s) a charming everyman who tends bar at a local establishment, and Elijah (90’s) a withered old man surviving on Seattle’s city streets. When Max brings food to Elijah in an act of charity, we soon discover that there’s more to these two men than meets the eye. When Max tries to comfort the ailing old man, Elijah seems genuinely afraid of Max. Through a flashback, we learn that Max and Elijah are brothers, and Max has been keeping Elijah alive with his mysterious power to heal through touch. Max doesn’t know how he possesses such a power, but Elijah doesn’t want it anymore. Although his mind is almost gone, Elijah has a sense that his time was up a long time ago. He pleads with Max to let him go. In a final act of brotherly love, Max holds back his gift and doesn’t save the person he loves the most.
