SYNOPSIS:

University students Alex and Peter embark on a Halloween camping field trip with Alex's free-spirited sister Terra and her activist boyfriend, Devon, to investigate the sighting of a rare and endangered species of moth in a remote woodland. Their plans, however, are interrupted when the stern landowner, John, appears with an axe and demands they leave. Undeterred by John's threats, the group sneaks back and camps near a flooded quarry, hidden from view. As night falls, an eerie fog emanates from the depths of the quarry, releasing the malevolent spirit of Jack, a wandering soul whose haunting fiddle music fills the air. Terra becomes entranced by the mesmerizing melody, twirling uncontrollably under its enchanting spell, disappearing into the fog. Determined to rescue her, Devon pursues Terra but soon discovers they are not alone in the shrouded woods. Other entities lurk within the mist, posing an additional threat – the tormented souls of Jack's numerous victims. In a desperate bid to save Terra, Devon and Peter tragically meet their demise at the hands of the evil Jack, who's eyes are lumps of glowing hot coal. Alex narrowly escapes his clutches but finds herself pursued by a vengeful gypsy ghost woman with her eyes gouged out and a sun-wheel symbol carved in the forehead. During her frantic flight, Alex sustains a head injury, rendering her unconscious. Upon regaining consciousness, several hours have passed, and dawn approaches rapidly. Time is running out to rescue her sister. Fortunately, John arrives to lend his assistance. He reveals Jack's dark history and the circumstances of his transformation. Together, they embark on a mission to rescue Terra before Jack claims her soul at dawn. Their rescue plan seems to be succeeding until Jack unveils to John the ghost of his own daughter, whom Jack had murdered years before. Lured into the enveloping fog, John meets his tragic end at Jack's blade, leaving Alex on her own in the quest to save her sister. However, Jack ensnares Alex with the entrancing power of his music. Upon awakening from Jack's spell, Alex finds herself alone with Terra. The sisters flee into woods, only to be confronted by Jack once more, but when the sun rises and the fog returns to whence it came, Jack vanishes, along with Alex, as she had unknowingly already become a ghost. In a tragic twist, Alex inadvertently sacrificed herself by assuming her sister's fate. She succeeded in saving Terra, but at the cost of her own mortal soul. ‘Glow In The Dark' is an enthralling genre-twist horror screenplay that not only delivers thrilling scares but also weaves a poignant environmental metaphor into its narrative.
