SYNOPSIS:

After a funeral, an aged grandfather WILLIAM BAILEY fears his family will grow apart after he dies. He asks his grandson LOUIS BAILEY to register the family on-line at what he believes is his own family reunion. Unknownst to both, the reunion is that of a white family named BAILEY.

As the family prepares to attend the reunion, the reunion steering committee holds a meeting in New York where members discuss the hefty increase in registrations. Several new activities are added to please the new registrants. None is the wiser that the new registrants are black because they have similar or the exact same names.

Soon, two committee members are suspicious of the new registrants. One woman wants to keep them because of financial gain. The other finds out and asks to refund all of their money. The b;ack women are thrilled to be in their first fashion show and luncheon and the black men are excited to play in the golf tournament. The big question is who will be Man/Woman of the Year?

As the reunion approaches, Louis does more research on the family and learns what he suspects. This family, while related to them, is their white counterpart. He keeps the secret believing it could be a good experience for all. As word spreads, Blacks register from Arkansas, Tennessee, Missouri, Illinois, Oklahoma, Texas and Michigan.

The reunion is scheduled at the Mayflower Hotel in Washington, DC. and as guests arrive, the blacks with the same names are placed in the most opulent rooms reserved by the committee members.

The fashion show is complete with make-overs for several women. Afterwards, families take in the DC museums. All are in awe of the nation's greatness. The "Meet and Greet" includes square-dancing, but not the kind the committee hoped for. Several black family members who planned it brought their own caller and music. The group learns to do "RB Square-Dancing," popular in urban areas. The reunion committee has also taken lessons and engages in a square-dance duel.

The kids finally perform a finale of pop songs to a square dance! The group has fun and grows close. Saturday's picnic allows some women to display their skills at cooking unusual ethnic dishes. During the golf tournament, the men discuss the family history and how they made their fortunes. William explains what happened to his own grandfather after they were sold by the Baileys in VA and NC.

The whites are sorely grieved they have little understanding of what really happened post slavery.During the final night of the reunion, the man thought to be the winner of the Man of the Year is not. The winner gives his award to another worthy yet unsuspecting member. The woman who refused to refund their money admits she first did so for gain, but met a woman with her own name and greatly admired her. The two share Woman of the Year. Several members fall in love. A story of love, faith and hope realized. Cameos by Champ Bailey, U.S. Capital Secret Service Agent David Bailey, Phillip Bailey and the group "Earth, Wind and Fire" performs on the final night.
