SYNOPSIS:
Just graduated from USC, deeply in love with Frances, his high school sweetheart, Shalin Shah heads off to achieve a dream of making the world a better place by helping people and joining the US Peace Corps. Within weeks of arriving in a remote village in Peru, Shalin can't shake a bad cough or pain in his ribs. An x-ray reveals a six-inch mass in his chest and he is evacuated back to the U.S. A biopsy shows that he has aggressive cancer. Refusing to be downhearted, Shalin leads the way, inspiring those around him to have a positive attitude and face the struggle. But, even with his courageous fight, Shalin, learns he has become terminal. After the devastating news sets in, he is beset by a sudden calm, a grateful acceptance of life and what we are meant to do here on our short time on earth. He sets out to realize his deepest dreams, which are to marry Frances and live the remainder of his days as filled with joy and love as possible and inspire others to do the same.
