By Matt Hausmann

GENRE: Comedy
LOGLINE:

After an accident leaves a messy roadkill in the parking garage, two best friend valets set out to humorously handle the situation, trying to find someone willing to clean up the mess before the putrid smell engulfs the entire parking garage.

SYNOPSIS:

A bustling public parking garage in the heart of Downtown Los Angeles. Two boisterous valets, Billy, a good-looking Irishman, and Usman, a foul-mouthed hot-head Pakistani, deal with the eccentricities of their job. Old Man Chester, a retired veteran, dozes off behind the valet stand. No matter how hard the impatient customers try to wake him, Chester remains asleep. Meanwhile, Billy and Usman, both skilled valets, engage in a playful race to a parked car. The fun and games come to a grinding halt when they receive a call from their loathed superior, Laina. As the call progresses, Billy apologizes to Laina for an incident that he had no control over that occurred last night and assures her they will address the issue. The previous night, while security guard Maurice “Froyo” Coleman was asleep on duty, a car ran over some sort of animal, leaving a now unidentifiable grotesque splattering of guts and feces. Maurice tapes off the crime scene while Billy and Usman set out to humorously handle the situation, trying to find someone willing to clean up the mess before the putrid smell engulfs the entire parking garage and spins their entire job upside down.

Their attempts begin in the cramped office of Quatro Diego, a terrifying, grizzled janitor who seems to be constantly nursing a long-lasting hangover. When shown a photo of the incident, Quatro reacts with horror, popping aspirin and taking a swig from his flask. Refusing to clean the blood and excrement, Quatro instead gives them a mop and bucket to clean, and a bag of cocaine to sell by the end of the day, threatening to kill them if they don’t succeed. Billy and Usman’s task grow increasingly complex while the fast-approaching foul odor engulfs them in a noxious haze. They seek refuge on the top floor in search of fresh air. Despite their momentary excitement of their true dream: to work in the men’s department at Kohl’s when the stench returns, reminding them of their immediate predicament.

Billy and Usman decide to approach their nemeses, the car washers, for help. The misadventures of Billy and Usman continue, along the way, they discover a secret brothel in the staircase with a long line of incredibly eager and reactive customers who don’t take lightly to Billy and Usman’s cutting in line. After grabbing a BB gun from the lost and found shelf, the situation escalates, and Billy and Usman are left battered and bruised because they don’t pay a toll in cutting the line. In a frantic attempt to escape the chaos, the two valets hop into a nearby car. During their drive, a mysterious homeless man pushes a shopping cart in front of the car and the impact releases a cloud of cocaine in their faces. In a coked-out blur, Billy and Usman embark on a mad dash to the car wash, running through levels, sliding down railings, and jumping over cars.

They finally reach the car wash where a bunch of guys dressed in swim trucks who wash cars. Tuba, the badass Texan manager, Shell, her bombshell Floridian assistant, and Dean, a gay employee from SoCal, grab pipes and wrenches in an attempt to force the coked-out valets to leave. The rivals square off in preparation for battle. After Dean makes a series of forward sexual advanced at Usman, who ends up shooting him with a BB gun, Billy explains their stench predicament. When a huge waft of stink descends upon the car wash, the valets and car washers decide to call a truce while they attend to the situation, and everyone prepares to tackle the roadkill mess that’s affecting everyone in the garage.

They use a pressure washer and work together to clean up the area. After a successful cleanup, Usman and Billy enjoy a celebratory cigarette, both covered in filth. The homeless man from before, known as The All-Knowing, praises their work and mentions a janitorial app that offers cleaning services. Billy and Usman laugh because the app charges minimum wage and they can’t afford that. The All-Knowing gives them a brick of cash as payment for the cocaine they had intended to bring to the party upstairs. Usman and Billy plead to join the celebration, but the All-Knowing declines them an invite. Billy and Usman return to the valet stand where they face an angry mob of impatient customers. Chester, the sleeping valet, wakes up and leaves for his lunch break.

This is gonna be fun to watch, Matt. I only have one tiny suggestion. Change "entire parking garage" to "entire garage" since you already said "parking garage" in the logline ("in the parking garage").
