Amid the shadows of her legacy, Rey's noble pursuit to restore the Jedi Order unravels into tragedy as she confronts the resurrected Sith and the abyss within her soul on Exegol.

SYNOPSIS:

After the fall of the First Order, Rey Skywalker journeys to Tatooine seeking the lost wisdom of Obi‑Wan Kenobi. Guided by a mysterious dream, she enters an ancient cave where she instead encounters the Force ghosts of Yoda and Luke Skywalker. Yoda warns her that “A new order, start, you must not” and Luke cautions that rebuilding the Jedi could bring “pain and suffering.” Conflicted and shaken, Rey leaves the cave without the answers she hoped for.

Meanwhile, Poe Dameron and Finn track Rey’s signal and arrive on Tatooine just as a new threat emerges: a reborn Empire led by Darth Plagueis, master of Darth Sidious. Plagueis has created a terrifying new army—Super‑Storm‑Troopers engineered from Force‑sensitive beings. Rey, Poe, and Finn are captured and taken aboard Plagueis’ Grand‑Star‑Destroyer.

Plagueis reveals shocking truths: he survived Sidious’ betrayal, claims to be the original discoverer of the Force, and intends to restore Sith rule. He taunts Rey as “granddaughter of my traitorous apprentice,” insisting she cannot escape her lineage. The prisoners are transported to Exegol, where an even darker revelation awaits.

In the fortress throne room, Darth Sidious himself returns—resurrected through Plagueis’ power. He attempts to seduce Rey back into the darkness, whispering promises of legacy and destiny. Rey hears faint voices of Anakin and Luke urging her to resist, but Sidious’ power overwhelms her. When Ben Solo suddenly appears—reborn as Kylo Ren—Sidious commands him to turn Rey to the dark side.

Rey and Kylo Ren clash in a brutal duel. Despite her pleas—“I don’t want to fight you”—Kylo forces her hand. In a moment of rage and desperation, Rey kills him. As he dies, Ben’s true self flickers through, whispering “Thank you” before fading forever.

Shattered by guilt, Rey is returned to Plagueis—only to abruptly execute him in a cold, instinctive strike. The act fractures her spirit. Her eyes darken, her voice twists, and she declares that she was “always a Palpatine, never a Skywalker.” Embracing her bloodline, Rey ascends the throne as the new Sith Empress.

Poe and Finn escape, haunted by visions and warnings from the Force. Yoda’s ghost appears to Poe, hinting that the galaxy’s balance has shifted once again. As Rey Palpatine consolidates her power, the fate of the galaxy falls into deeper uncertainty than ever before.
