By Christian James Hearn

GENRE: Action, Thriller
LOGLINE:

A man is shot and wakes up in the trunk of his own car with the shooter at the wheel. He has until the car stops to find out who wants him dead, and why.

SYNOPSIS:

Doctor Robert McCammon has a successful career as a cosmetic surgeon but a strained relationship with his ex-wife and son, Tim. After kissing his fiancé Shelley goodbye and forfeiting a day out with Tim in favour of lunch with a fellow doctor, Robert heads out to work.

Two detectives, on the trail of a serial killer targeting plastic surgeons, stand over the body of the latest victim and ponder the question; who’s next?

Robert rudely declines to work on a disfigured man calling himself Mr. Smith and heads for home. But upon returning to his car a pillowcase is pulled over his face and a bullet fired at his head.

Robert wakes up in the trunk of his speeding car. The bullet grazed his skull and he is bleeding badly. Having only his phone and a bag of shopping, Robert calls the police and pleads to be rescued. But with no idea where he is or where he’s going, he knows he must try and save himself.

When Robert hears voices make reference to a contract killing and their plans to dispose of his body, he realises this is no random car-jacking. Somebody wants him dead and he has until the car stops to figure out who. He calls Mo, his dependable secretary, and they begin their own investigation.

As the detectives turn up evidence that suggests a contract killing disguised to look like the work of the serial killer, Mo’s investigation leads to a malpractice case involving the wife of a known criminal.

With time running out, the usually distant Robert reaches out to his ex-wife and young son. He begins to see what he stands to lose. Now truly isolated and alone, he attempts to escape from the car.

As Robert struggles to free himself the sound of sirens grow near and the prospect of rescue seems imminent. But when one of the contract Killers guns down a police officer Robert loses all hope.

But as Robert is about to take his own life, his phone rings. The Driver is calling. Robert is told he has only “one more mile to go” and he finds the motivation to fight. Using only what he has with him in the trunk, Robert goes on the offensive using his makeshift weapons.

Robert escapes and flags down a tailing van only to find the second contract Killer behind the wheel. Robert, bleeding and weakening, is marched through the woods and ordered at gun point to dig his own grave. It is here that Robert finally learns who wants him dead. Shelley. His fiancé.

Standing knee deep in his own grave, Robert uses his wits to pit the two Killers against each other and stands by while they gun one another down. But Robert is bleeding. Badly. Time, and his life, are quickly slipping away.

While the police close in on Shelley, Robert returns to one of the vehicles and calls his Son, promising to see him one last time…
