As animals and plants mutate into giant, deadly creatures, an FBI agent must stop a rogue biotech breakthrough before it triggers a worldwide ecological collapse.
SYNOPSIS:
In Animalypse, FBI Special Agent Chandra Wilkison investigates Saint Mount, a powerful genetic engineering corporation, after her mother, renowned geneticist Dr. Rhonda Wilkison, warns that its new product—Mutanex—poses serious environmental risks.
While probing Saint Mount’s political ties, Chandra is reprimanded and reassigned to investigate a series of animal attacks. She uncovers a disturbing pattern: livestock growing to abnormal size and aggression, and vegetation spreading at impossible speeds—all linked to widespread Mutanex use.
When a poultry farm outbreak turns thousands of chickens into lethal predators, Chandra intervenes to save survivors. Her actions lead to her suspension under political pressure.
Refusing to stop, she seeks out Dr. Hendrich Forseter, the disgraced scientist who created Mutanex and was imprisoned after exposing its dangers. Now free, he claims to have developed a cure—Hypergenex—and proposes distributing it globally using Dr. Wilkison’s nanobots, microscopic carriers capable of spreading through water systems.
Chandra brings him to her mother, but they are captured by mercenaries from the eco-terrorist group Green World Order, led publicly by billionaire Da Fonseca and militant strategist Molotov. Forseter reveals himself as the true architect: Hypergenex is not a cure, but a catalyst designed to amplify Mutanex and collapse global agriculture.
Forced to prepare the nanobots for worldwide release, Dr. Wilkison complies under threat to her daughter. Chandra and her mother escape and develop a counteragent capable of neutralizing both Mutanex and Hypergenex.
