The setting is a grit-and-neon Los Angeles where luxury high-rises overlook dark alleys harboring ancient cults and alien predators. There are no clean endings; every victory requires a piece of the investigators' souls.

The public believes the FBI handles the human elements of crime. But when a homicide scene features a body molecularly fused to a wall, or a tech executive is exsanguinated via ritualistic witchcraft, standard forensics hit a dead end. The digital servers are scrubbed, and the case file is designated CLASSIFIED.
