NO PLANES, TRAINS, OR AUTOMOBILES

NO PLANES, TRAINS, OR AUTOMOBILES
By Joseph Murkijanian

GENRE: Comedy, Biopic / True Story
LOGLINE:

A man who survives every disaster tries staying home—life keeps showing up anyway.

SYNOPSIS:

Frano Selak is a cautious, rule-loving music teacher who just wants a quiet life — but life refuses to cooperate. After surviving a string of absurd accidents — a bus in a river, a train derailment, airborne chaos, burning cars, and near-misses that defy probability — the public crowns him “the luckiest man alive.” To everyone else, he’s a miracle. To Frano, there’s a scheduling conflict with physics.

Soon, strangers treat him like a walking safety charm. Gamblers want to stand near him, officials want him present at risky events, and his marriages collapse because living with him means wearing emergency gear at dinner. The more he tries to avoid danger, the more the world builds a myth around him — until he realizes the real problem isn’t the accidents, it’s the belief that he controls them.

Determined to end the legend, Frano stops preparing, stops running, and finally lives normally… and nothing happens. Forced to accept that his life was never destiny or curse — just coincidence — he abandons the superstition built around him and becomes what he always wanted: an ordinary man.

For the first time in his life, survival is boring. And that’s the miracle.
