LIMO DRIVER

LIMO DRIVER
By Joseph Murkijanian

GENRE: Comedy
LOGLINE:

A bumbling Armenian limo driver at Hollywood’s most elite car service barrels through a series of drunken pickups, celebrity disasters, and romantic misfires—only to stumble into love, redemption, and the opportunity of a lifetime.

SYNOPSIS:

Meet Armen: a sweet, clueless, old-school Armenian man who somehow landed a job at LA’s most prestigious limousine company—despite being the human equivalent of a traffic accident. He’s a walking liability: drinking on the job, driving the wrong people on the wrong dates, lighting cigarettes during rides, and casually discussing hookers, conspiracy theories, and marriage with A-list clients.

Greg, the tightly-wound company manager, should’ve fired Armen years ago. But Armen’s disasters often yield bizarrely good results—like when he drives a rock star to the wrong venue and ends up reigniting the guy’s career… or when he crash-delivers a U.S. Senator to a fundraiser after causing a ten-car pile-up caught on live news.

Things get more complicated when Lena, the company’s sharp, no-nonsense dispatcher, starts falling for Armen. She sees something no one else does: his pure heart. But Armen’s obsessive love for his mother—and knack for professional catastrophe—make the budding romance a minefield.

As Armen’s antics escalate, he finds himself chauffeuring a billionaire recluse, dodging Secret Service, getting mistaken for a drug dealer, and—accidentally—launching a new startup involving flying limousines. At the center of it all? A man who never meant to matter… but somehow changed everyone around him.

Dramatic Hooks & Themes:

  • Fish Out of Water with a Heart of Gold: Armen is a lovable fool who turns elite LA upside-down with his unfiltered honesty and chaotic charm.

  • Workplace Rom-Com: The slow-burn romance with Lena is full of awkward, hilarious tension that turns unexpectedly touching.

  • Celebrity Satire: A parade of exaggerated VIP clients (rock stars, senators, tech moguls) gives the story constant comic momentum.

  • Cultural Identity: Armen’s Armenian roots and tight-knit family add texture, warmth, and offbeat comedic beats.

  • Underdog Wins: Just when it seems Armen’s career is over, he’s offered the keys to an empire—literally.

Why It Works: Limo Driver is a crowd-pleasing, multicultural comedy with strong character branding and franchise potential. With minimal VFX, real-world locations (offices, limos, LA streets), and a tight ensemble cast, it’s a low-budget, high-reward project that blends classic physical comedy with modern workplace absurdity. Perfect for streamers like Netflix or Searchlight’s indie comedy division, it’s The Office meets Coming to America—in a limo.
