A survivalist seals himself in his apocalypse bunker — only to find his estranged daughter inside, and as the shelter begins to fail, he must abandon control to save the one person he never learned how to live with.

SYNOPSIS:

This is a contained psychological thriller about a man who prepared for the end of the world so he would never have to feel loss again — and the daughter who forces him to.

Arthur Holland is a precision-obsessed engineer in his sixties. He’s spent twenty years building a luxury underground bunker designed for solitary survival. When a mysterious global event hits — sirens, shockwaves, communications failing — he executes his life’s plan and seals himself inside.

But he isn’t alone.

His estranged daughter Maya has secretly been living there for months. The bunker he designed to remove unpredictability now contains the one relationship he never resolved. He tries to run it like a system — schedules, rations, rules — while she refuses to live like inventory.

Then they begin receiving strange transmissions from the surface, and when Arthur briefly opens the hatch to collect data, he contaminates his own air supply. The shelter meant to save them starts slowly killing them.

Every repair now requires cooperation. Every hour forces conversation. And during an argument about contacting survivors, the exit mechanism breaks — turning the bunker into a sealed trap.

With oxygen running out, Arthur must enter a hazardous chamber he designed never to access. For the first time in his life he acts without a plan — not to survive, but to save his daughter.

They emerge into a changed but livable world, and the man who built his life around control walks into uncertainty beside another human being.

It’s 10 Cloverfield Lane meets an intimate family drama — a thriller where the real escape isn’t the bunker, it’s emotional isolation.
