SYNOPSIS:
The Burden Sixteen-year-old Eli bears a terrifying secret: he sees the exact date of death floating above everyone’s head. When his father, Mark, dies despite Eli's desperate interference, Eli learns a brutal truth: death cannot be erased, only move
The Transaction Driven by grief and a need for control, Eli decides to weaponize his ability. Adopting the mantra "One Life Must Matter More," he begins engineering the deaths of violent or "wicked" people to transfer their remaining years to the innocent . However, his vigilantism ends in tragedy when a calculated attempt to sacrifice a cruel businessman accidentally kills an innocent eight-year-old girl instead, shattering Eli's justification .
The Sacrifice Realizing his attempts to control fate are merely "murder by omission," Eli abandons his notebook and his judgment. On a hospital rooftop, he instinctively saves a dying woman without calculating the cost . . Accepting his end with peace, Eli dies, causing the floating dates to vanish from the world forever .
