SYNOPSIS:
'The Diamond Exchange' is a wild action comedy best describe as 'The Hangover' meets 'Blood Diamond'. The story begins with Connor Price as he is struggling to manage the relationships and growing expectations between the two most important people in his life: his long time girlfriend, Aubrey, and his childhood best friend, Dave. While Connor plans to solidify his commitment to Aubrey by proposing, Dave sees this as an end of an era, and ultimately the slow death to their friendship.
Reminiscent of the glory days, Dave pressures Connor into getting blackout drunk after an unsuccessful day of engagement ring shopping. Unfortunately, while intoxicated, they incite a riot that results in $20 million of jewels being looted from a jewelry store controlled by an international criminal syndicate. On the hook for their actions, Connor and Dave are kidnapped by the organization and told that they must go pick up a package as repayment or they will die. With no other choice, the men are shipped off to Africa.
Upon landing, the friends are caught in the middle of a savage gun fight illustrating the civil war conflict between a rebel militia and the Rotandi gang. The friends are taken by the rebel force and interrogated by their leader Tejan. Here the friends learn the truth about the Rotandi and the dangers they pose to all the innocent people of the land. Tejan believes the friends can help turn the tides of the war for them, but unfortunately it leads to the entire rebel camp being captured.
The friends are transported to the Rotandi camp along with the surviving rebels. There they meet the War Lord Denbae, who reveals they are providing him a shipment of high powered weapons in exchange for diamonds, but wants payment up front. Short on time and options, the friends cut a deal and leave for the airstrip with a small entourage of soldiers to secure the weapons shipment.
With time to reflect, Connor becomes convinced that they must destroy the Rotandi to cripple the syndicate, and bring back the diamonds as a bargaining chip for their lives. So Connor, driven by desire get back to Aubrey, hijacks the weapons shipment, and contacts the remaining rebels. Now armed with a small army, the friends ambush the compound and take it in an epic battle.
Once the friends secure the compound, they rush back to the airstrip and convince the pilots of a successful mission. Their flight home is cut short though, as Connor and Dave skydive from the plane to escape the syndicate’s grasp. Connor immediately tries to confirm Aubrey’s safety, but discovers that she is in route to a private airfield nearby. Fearing that Aubrey’s been taken, Connor and Dave head to the airfield.
Upon arrival, everything goes to hell, with Connor being identified and Dave coming under gun fire by the syndicate guards. All hope seems lost until a local Chicago PD unit, following up on a tip, arrives on scene. In the end, a huge fight breaks out between Connor, Dave, the police, and the syndicate. The friends emerge victorious landing the syndicate behind bars and the men absolved of most of the charges against them. Connor, in the end, admitted into the hospital realizes his goal and proposes to Aubrey.
