I like where this is going. So far, it's a spot-on adaptation of the original Dragon Ball anime and manga series, specifically focusing on the Red Ribbon Army Saga and King Piccolo Saga as a combined story while also having a unique twist on the story to spice things up a bit. Although, I don't know why Gohan mentions Goku's mother and father as Goku (SPOILER ALERT, see the bottom of this comment for more information), but I digress. Still, this is a solid start for a potential Dragon Ball live-action film, maybe even the start of a potential film franchise if you want the story to continue from there.

I'm also curious how much you know about Dragon Ball or Dragon Ball Z, because while most of this seems pretty spot-on in terms of being accurate to the source material, there are still a few inconsistencies, but that's how I see it. Now that part might be my inner Dragon Ball Z fanboy taking over, but I don't know. A little piece of advice: when it comes to adapting the source material, it's good to make some minor tweaks in order to stand out as a film that stands on its own merits, but you don't want to deviate too much from the source material to the point that it isn't recognizable, otherwise those who know the source material would not want to see the movie, and you'd lose a decent portion of your audience. It may not be the biggest portion of your audience that you'd lose, but still, you'd lose someone's interest, but every percent counts after all.

I'm a bit double-sided on Goku's portrayal because he feels familiar yet different, he's still the same fun-loving and adventurous guy he's known for, and he has a huge appetite and love of food like his manga counterpart, but part of him feels a bit more emotional and free-spirited, and Goku rarely shows sadness, but then again it could be a way to make him more relatable, so I don't like it too much but I also like and appreciate the effort to make him different but not too different. He also shows frustration in his training to get stronger, which matches his character as he loves getting stronger and fighting powerful opponents in the manga. However, his purpose in this screenplay seems to be to train to fight Demon Lord Piccolo, and while this could be seen as a more simplistic motivation for Goku's training, the potential film or series of films could start with Goku training to fight one enemy and build up towards him slowly learning to love fighting and being inspired to train and fight strong fighters just for the fun of it, but that last part is my own opinion and you may have different plans if this does become a Hollywood film, I don't know.

But moving on from criticisms, I like that this screenplay shows as much resemblance to the source material as possible while also making some unique changes to stand out. It's also interesting that Goku starts out in the screenplay as a teenager rather than when he made his debut in the original manga as a younger child. Also, his grandfather was still alive in the screenplay, which may be a bit too different from the source material, but it also makes him seem like he's a more important character than his manga counterpart.

Lastly, this screenplay ended on a cliffhanger, but I'm sure that was intentional as you probably wouldn't want to spoil it in case this does become a Hollywood film, so that was a solid move on your part.

Overall, this is a solid jumping-off point for a potential Dragon Ball live-action film (or maybe you want to make it animated, I don't know). What I said thus far was my honest feedback after reading your screenplay, but you can do whatever you want with the screenplay, I was just offering feedback, both things to improve on and things to keep doing a great job on. That's why I'll give this 4 out of 5 Stars.
