In denial of her cultural heritage, a quirky, middle-age, Persian American divorcee fights for her independence from her traditional mother, her Ex and her adult children.
SYNOPSIS:
Mitra finally files for that overdue divorce from a man that she never loved. Mitra’s mom, a hairdresser and a traditional Persian immigrant who uses old socks as oven mitts. She says, “So what if the socks have holes in them! I can still use them!”
And she’s always meddling in Mitra’s affairs. She throws a small dinner party and tries to set Mitra up with her fitness-guru client. Mitra actually starts to make the love connection with the fitness-guru, when her Ex barges in and surprises her with the returned divorce papers. Mitra was in such a hurry to get rid of her Ex, she forgot to put postage on the envelope. Now she has to contend with letting her Ex moving back in while dealing with her differences with her traditional mother.
