A sold-out concert forces Effortlessly, an egotistical rapper to confront the emptiness of his lyrics, unaware that the truth about his fabricated persona is about to explode on stage.
SYNOPSIS:
Effortlessly, a rising star in the hip-hop world, is preparing for the biggest night of his career: a sold-out concert. As he paces backstage, he can't shake the nagging feeling that something isn't right. He sits down at his dressing table and looks at himself in the mirror, and that's when he hears it: a voice in his head, questioning the authenticity of his rhymes.
"Are you sure this is the life you want to rap about?" the voice asks. "Are you sure you're being true to yourself and your experiences?"
Effortlessly is taken aback. He's always prided himself on writing lyrics that are as authentic as possible, but the voice in his head is making him question the validity of his work. He's never lived the "thug life" he raps about, and he wonders if his fans will see through the façade.
As the minutes tick by, Effortlessly becomes more and more agitated. He knows that the concert is about to start, but he can't bring himself to go out on stage if he doesn't have the support of his own conscience.
Going out on the stage as he looks out at the sea of faces, he can't shake the feeling that something is off. He takes the microphone and begins to rap, but the words feel hollow on his tongue.
