By Bernard Mersier

GENRE: Horror
LOGLINE:

Halloween night becomes a nightmare when Joel's confrontation with his daughter awakens a forgotten evil tied to his past, proving that some secrets are best left buried.

SYNOPSIS:

The story opens on Halloween night. Joel is visibly annoyed by the decorations, costumes, and general festive atmosphere. An argument erupts between Joel and his daughter, accusing him of being a killjoy and resenting her happiness. He criticizes her for being frivolous and disrespectful. In a moment of anger, fueled by years of suppressed resentment, Joel shouts that if she doesn't like his rules, she can leave.

The doorbell rings. Joel, still enraged, answers it, expecting to be greeted by a group of costumed kids. Instead of children, Joel finds his porch engulfed in flames. Panic sets in. Joel rushes inside to grab a bucket of water, frantically scooping it from the kitchen sink.

He returns to find the fire mysteriously extinguished. Confused, Joel goes back inside, ready to resume the argument with his daughter. He searches the house, but she's nowhere to be found. As Joel spirals into despair, a chilling presence fills the house. The lights flicker. The air grows cold. The voice of his dead wife begins taunting him, reminding him of a specific Halloween night from his past, hinting at a tragic event he’s tried to bury. This event is the real source of his hatred for the holiday.
