SYNOPSIS:
Since 2020, the world has not felt the same. A large percentage of the population can't shake the feeling of something being horribly wrong. At first, this is dismissed as exhaustion and paranoia of the current societal and political climate. People are more miserable than ever, and it's only getting worse. It's hard not to feel like something is wrong and out of the ordinary. It's been one issue after another. 25% of the population feels this the most. They begin questioning their reality. Posting videos and articles online, connecting with like-minded people. They all share the same worries, and become a community. A support group, of sorts. As they dig deeper into the rabbit hole, they discover they're not wrong. The world they live in is not reality. 75% of the population are clones. The real versions of those people are scattered throughout two alternate timelines. One timeline exists where covid never happened, nor did the social and political divide. The other goes as far back as 9/11 never happening, causing the growth and optimism of the 90s to flourish into the 21st century. Also in these timelines, only 25% of the population is real. Everyone else is a clone. The Post Covid support group opens a portal connecting the three timelines. At first, all seems well. They're able to experience a different version of the 21st century, without all the horrors that came with it. As well as spend time with the real versions of their friends and family who were cloned in the covid timeline. Taking full advantage of the "What could have been?" experience The problem is that this portal activates the clones, turning them into mindless killers in all three timelines. Something humanity certainly isn't prepared to deal with.
