The script revolves around NIGEL--a nine month old Toy Fox Terrier, who was born as a result of a secret Government Experiment, which left him with super human intelligence and the ability to control minds.

Nigel is rescued from the lab by a group known as E.A.R.L. (emergency animal rescue league) and taken to a nearby animal shelter, where he is adopted by the MORRIS family.

The Morris family consists of the mother, DONNA a children's book writer who suffers from writer's block. Husband, JIM, a car salesmen who can't give a car away, much less sell one. Son, MIKE--10, who suffers from obsessive compulsive disorder. JESSICA--9, who stutters and has to sleep with the lights on. And last, KATIE--5, who is the baby of the family and still sucks her thumb.

Nigel thinks he is coming home to a one child family who will create the lifestyle he so much desires, but he is mistaken when he is met by the rest of the family who is in dire need of help.

As Nigel begins to help them one by one, he is unaware of the danger that awaits him. The EVIL DOCTOR, who created him, has now sent two agents out to find him and bring him back to the lab where he can study him and then proceed with a lobotomy, therefore disarming his perceived threat to national security.

It takes several attempts and another, "smarter agent" to finally bring Nigel into the lab where he meets his "kryptonite" . . . an android he can’t control and he fears his end is near.

However, this is where Nigel’s abilities shine, as he must use them to escape the clutches of the android and scientist, to once again return back to his family to finish the work he has started.
