SYNOPSIS:

Blood Lagoon is a horror/adventure story that takes place in the Florida Everglades. The story revolves around a home developer building a huge residential development in the outskirts of the Everglades and near a Miccosukee Indian reserve. In the beginning of the story a survey crew is sent out to survey an area called "Lagona Roja", the crew is found murdered. A team of police investigators set out to find what has caused such grisly murders. While investigating, they find that a group of Miccosukee Indians have been protesting the development of a certain area called "Red Lagoon". The leader of the group cites that it is the finally resting place of Chief Aripeka a powerful spiritual leader who used his "medicine" to stir the Indian warriors of the past into a "Fierce Frenzy". Chief Aprika fought side be side with Chief Osceola who liberated the Indian tribes of South Florida.

The Miccosukee group is lead by John Billie an elder of the tribal council and Susan Tiger, attorney and John's niece. John Billie secretly leads a group of selected Miccosukee that practice the ritual of "Transformation", using the medicine that has been passed down generation to generation from Chief Aripeka. The small group elects to scare the construction crews away by transforming. John's nephew Jimmy Tiger, feels that the group has become weak, and that the real purpose of transformation is more of power instead of inner growth and becoming one with nature. Jimmy transform into a 10-foot, reptilian creature, with a blood lust for killing. The Miami-Dade police department initiates a search for what has been killing people in the everglades.

An expedition crew is organized with a pair of police investigators, two members of the construction company, John Billie, Susan Tiger, Bill Rigor (a half Miccosukee Indian alligator trapper) and his assistant an African by the name of Joseph Taher. During the expedition the crew faces alligators, snakes and being hunted by the creature. Finally, when only a few crew members are left, they set up a trap, involving explosives in an empty building to kill the creature. With creature trapped in the burning building, he grabs Susan holding her hostage in fear of capture and its up to John Billie to talk to the creature and release Susan. The building begins to collapse and the human part of the creature helps the crew escape. The creature is injured and weak to escape and as the crew is leaving on the air boats they look back and see the creature turn into Jimmy Tiger and burning in the fire. A camera pans to the hospital room where one of the survey crew member lies in a bed the camera slowly closes in on his face then suddenly his eyes open and he begins to transform. The End?
