SYNOPSIS:
HOT LAP is a TV show based on the high-adrenaline sport of superbike racing. All over North America on any given weekend there are tens of thousands of sport enthusiasts lapping at their local race track. In season one of this ground-breaking new TV series, you get to watch the first ever motorcycle racing game show where two brothers and their two friends take on local challengers on the best racetracks from Canada to California. Each episode has an interesting twist, as the team members challenge local riders to a hot lap contest. The fastest rider who can beat our team’s best lap time gets a ticket to the Grand Finale and a chance to WIN a FREE bike! While the two brothers Andy and Steve, and best friends Matt and Derek are racing each other for the fastest lap, the series mixes in a game show twist by challenging 100 local riders to a fast-paced, ego-bruising, heart-stopping shootout on super-bikes. Sample Reel: http://hotlaptv.com/video-footage.html In addition to the main storyline of the two brothers racing, the show has a season-long story arc with travel editorial about a dream pilgrimage to race track Mecca’s of yester-year, including each track’s unique history. HOT LAP is a first person adrenaline spiked tale, told by a likeable cast, as they travel the most famous race tracks – throwing down the racing gauntlet for the fastest lap. The show is filmed as unscripted reality TV and mixes motor-sports tourism, fast paced racing action, an interesting cast of characters, intense competition and real danger with dramatic victories and defeats. HOT LAP is designed to appeal to all motorsport and travel enthusiasts. Season one is being billed as ‘Canada to California’; season two is ‘L.A. to London’ season three is ‘Germany to Japan’. HOT LAP is designed to emulate characteristics of other highly successful shows in the motorsport genre such as “The Long Way Around” and “BBC’s Top Gear”. We recognize Europe as one of 3 primary markets for this show, so we’ve included a large segment of the UK’s best tracks – to be featured in season two. Played in sequence, each season is arranged as a continuous motorsports travel documentary spanning 10 different tracks plus 3 feature episodes with 100 random challengers per season. Outline of the Multi-Season Story Arc To maximize the shows appeal and distribution potential, our strategy is to engage the major motorsports market in three distinct geographic territories - USA, Canada and Europe. We have identified the most mentioned tracks in motorsports journalism throughout each of these key territories and have designed our next two seasons to feature these particular tracks. Our third season will focus on Asia Pacific. At the end of three seasons, we plan to summarize the series with the release of a thematic documentary "HOT LAP Around the World" as a feature length film. -30-
