A thirty-year-old slacker wakes up in an unfamiliar house and assumes it’s another drunken one-night stand, until he discovers that the others trapped in the house don’t know how they got there either.
Totally agree Mike. I really enjoy taking a basic concept and making it outrageous. This house is a little different. I've been told by several people that the script reminds them of Terry Gilliam visually because of the ghastly banging, up side down furniture, doors floating above their heads etc. I'm also a big fan of the original "Twilight Zone" and I believe that also shows in some of my more bizarre pieces. Thanks for checking it out!
I like it also though I agree with Mike here.. the theme is familiar.. I think if it was spun to where Abner leads them into a Labyrinth/sci-fi maze it could be really fun!
I am intrigued. I would keep watching this all the way to the end, even if I had unanswered questions...one way you might keep others watching might be to inject some off-kilter (dark) comedy at strategic points (maybe you already have that in the script...my apologies if you do).
3 stars for a good start on the logline. Not seeing the movie poster yet. My, off the cuff start is: Waking up in a strange house isn't unusual for Evan. but having so many strangers with him is. Worse yet is this house wants to end them.
OK, I'm in, but explain the thriller part?
A contained thriller with some comedic elements. Had a pretty hard time categorizing this one. I would leave it at bizarre short if I could.
Just put up the synopsis to The Quandary so you can see a more detailed version of it.
Good and needs a great pay off.
I specialize in twist endings.
It is all in the execution. Seen the theme many times but if it's interesting enough for an audience you might have something.
